Details
Background
Born in 943 in Heroham (in the arldom of Landbury) to a low-born reeve and his wife, a scrappy kid always fighting bullies, no matter how much bigger they might be. As a young adventurer, he joined the Heroes' Guild, and worked his way up through the ranks over decades. He has been recognized by the King of Generica and other top nobles of the Realm for his bravery, cunning, and timely interventions. In his early years, he married a gentleman's daughter (a "prize" for a job), but never had any children—he has always considered the Guild to be his family. He has been offered knighthood several times but always refused—he's seen a little too much of the political shenaniganry perpetrated by the noble houses (notably the house of Lionheart, for whom he holds a special dislike), and wants no part of any of it. He served as a Chapter Master for many years, and later the Guild's Steward, and was chosen as Grand Master around seven years ago. He has mostly retired from "active duty" but will still occasionally put a boot up someone's ass at his age, if needed.
Family
- Married; no kids(?)
Current
- Primary: He has always tried to advance the honor and reputation of the Guild while keeping his Guild-family from flying apart, but lately, there's always some new crisis throwing the two out of balance
- Secondary: His wife is always fussing over his health, and he's finally starting to capitulate, trying to eat "better," taking more breaks and trying to avoid stressful situations.
Traits
Chess-Player; Famous; Nigh-Fearless; Expert Fighter; Expert Strategist; Dislike of Nobility
Notes
- Ref: Winston—John Wick
- Powers-that-be are secretly bothered by their inability to gain a hook into him
- Having come to the defense of so many victims of the Lionhearts' greedy scheming has resulted in his general opinion that their house is a huge nest of villainy
