Background
Born in 943 in Heroham (in the arldom of Landbury) to a low-born reeve and his wife, a scrappy kid always fighting bullies, no matter how much bigger they might be. As a young adventurer, he joined the Heroes' Guild, and worked his way up through the ranks over decades. He has been recognized by the King of Generica and other top nobles of the Realm for his bravery, cunning, and timely interventions. In his early years, he married a gentleman's daughter (a "prize" for a job), but never had any children—he has always considered the Guild to be his family. He has been offered knighthood several times but always refused—he's seen a little too much of the shenaniganry perpetrated by the noble houses (notably the house of Lionheart, for whom he holds a special dislike), and wants no part of any of it. He served as the Guild's Steward, and was chosen as Grand Master around ten years ago. He has mostly retired from "active duty" but will still occasionally put a boot up someone's ass at his age, if needed.
